“An Tagen wie diesen, …” (“On days like this...”),
The visibly moved Director of the Hof Vocational College began her speech at the Bavarian State Prize Awards Ceremony with these words, taken from the lyrics of a song by the German Band “Die Toten Hosen”, which played in the background. The award is presented to students who have made outstanding achievements during the 2019 graduation year.
Martin Heißinger, Tool Mechanic at GEALAN Formteile GmbH, was one of the five recipients, with a dream grade point average of 1.0 (on a scale of 1–6, with 1 being the highest possible grade).
He trained as an apprentice for three-and-a-half years until February 2019. Now he is a specialist in the Mould Shop and in April he began training while working to become a technician.
Metalworking piqued his curiosity even as a child. He enjoyed building and working on machines, devices and tools in his free time together with his father, who is also a tool mechanic.
His secret formula for success:
A passion for one’s work + an interest in the profession + joy in getting things done + pay close attention, always ask questions and never give up!
“On days like this,...”
the Management is obviously thrilled to personally congratulate the young employee and present him with a special envelope.
Tremendous praise also goes out to the Training Officers and Training Supervisors.
“My Training Supervisor Daniel Köstner was always there for me. He really motivated and supported me.” Mentioning this was very important to Martin Heißinger.
They not only sowed the seeds of success; they also reaped the rewards.

Hats off to everyone involved! – The staff warmly congratulates Martin and his team on this incredible success!
